Dr Lothar Harings is a lawyer and partner at GvW Graf von Westphalen in Hamburg; he heads the firm’s Foreign Trade Practice Group. Dr Harings is also founder and managing director of the Hamburg Customs Academy. He is also a lecturer at the Europa-Institut of the University of Saarland, Saarbrücken. Dr Lothar Harings is chairman of the European Forum for Foreign Trade, Customs and Excise (EFA) and member of the advisory board of the Center for Foreign Trade Law (ZAR). The focus of his legal practice is on customs, export control and sanctions/embargoes.
